Joining RewardPay is free, quick, easy and obligation free. Just click on the sign up button at the top right of the homepage. You will need to add your New Zealand Busioness Number, business name, address, email and mobile number. It should take 5 minutes at most.
Any New Zealand business with a registered, active, publicly listed New Zealand Business Number (NZBN).
It may be that your business name is kept private on the NZ business register and this will not let you create an account. Contact us for a resolution.
RewardPay only accepts New Zealand issued American Express cards. You can use a personal or business Amex card.
No, your suppliers will not need to do anything. They will receive payment directly to their bank account as usual.
You need your supplier's NZBN or business name and Bank Account number, plus a bank payment reference number.
You can make payments to any New Zealand organisation with an active NZBN, unless prohibited. See clause 18 of the RewardPay T&Cs for further information.
To pay the IRD you will need your IRD number and payee code.
To pay the ACC levy you will need the Account name, policy number and reference.
Using your mobile device, try sending an SMS message to 3768 with the message Opt-in. This should enable your mobile to receive SMS messages from our service.
If your payment is finalised on the RewardPay portal by 5pm NZST/NZDT on a business day, the payment will be paid out by RewardPay the next business day but may not appear in your supplier's account until the following business day. Please give yourself extra time if making a payment with a specific deadline e.g. IRD or ACC.
There are no set up charges to use RewardPay. You will be charged 1.67% to pay the IRD and ACC (1.2% after tax) and 2.35% (1.69% after tax) for other sppliers. You will receive Membership Rewards Points relating to the Amex card used.

No, these payments will be considered as a standard transaction.
Credit cards are securely stored using encryption in your RewardPay wallet. RewardPay also tokenises all payments. RewardPay is a PCI - DSS compliant company.
Before you travel overseas, contact support@rewardpay.co.nz from your registered RewardPay email account, and make arrangements to receive sms verification codes from overseas.
The Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (the AML/CFT Act) and its regulations place obligations on New Zealand’s financial institutions to detect and deter money laundering and terrorism financing. RewardPay is a Department of internal Affairs registered business and we are required to adequately verify our customers and their organisations.
Verifying your identity consists of these steps:
1. You will be asked to photograph your New Zealand Driver’s Licence or your passport so we can securely extract your particulars.
2. You will be asked to take a selfie. We will compare your ID card photo with this selfie photo.
3. We will check your details against government ID databases.
4. In a small number of cases we may ask you to use further identity documents to complete your verification.
A Beneficial Owner is an individual who owns 25% or more of, or has the power to make decisions about the finances and operations of an entity such as a company, trust or partnership. Beneficial Owners must verify their identity, but otherwise have no user access within the RewardPay portal for that organisation.

Yes, you are able to add organisations and switch between organisations you have setup in the RewardPay portal.
Click on the menu in the top right corner of the portal. Under settings, go to the Organisation tab and select Add Organisation.
Click on the menu in the top right corner of the portal. A list of your organisations will be displayed. Select the organisation you wish to change to.
Payments Managers can set up draft payments for approval by the Account Owner, add new payees and amend existing payees. Payments Managers are not able to add new payment methods or authorise payments. Payments Managers are not required to verify their identity as they are not able to authorise payments in the RewardPay platform.
The Account Owner is responsible for the payment card stored in the wallet so is the only individual who can authorise a payment.
Each organisation may have a single Account Owner, and an unlimited number of Payments Managers.
Click on the menu in the top right corner of the portal. Under settings, select the Users tab and then click on the envelope icon next to the relevant individual.
Tax pooling allows New Zealand taxpayers to pool their provisional tax payments together in an account held by a registered tax pooling intermediary at Inland Revenue (IRD) so that underpayments by some can be offset by overpayments of others. Taxpayers receive/pay an interest rate that is higher/lower than IRD's rates if they overpay/underpay provisional tax. Intermediaries operate under legislation set out in the Income Tax Act 2007 and Tax Administration Act 1994. Refer to the Department of Inland Revenue for further information.
Create a new payee for your chosen tax pooling intermediary by clicking on Payees on the left side menu. Once you have created the payee you create a new payment to the payee and authorise the draft payment to be paid via your selected payment card. Refer to the Department of Inland Revenue list of registered tax pooling intermediaries for further information.
